Boxing world champ is coming to Kensington
Terence “Bud” Crawford, widely regarded as the world's premier pound-for-pound boxer, will take part in an exclusive live Q&A session at Melbourne Pavilion in Kensington on May 29.
Crawford has secured multiple world championships across four weight divisions – from lightweight to light middleweight – including titles in three separate divisions.
He is one of only three male boxers to achieve undisputed champion status in two weight classes: light welterweight and welterweight.
Crawford told North West City News that he was “excited” about his upcoming tour of Australia, where he will connect with fans and share stories from the ring with Melburnians.
The Melbourne event offers fans a rare opportunity to hear Crawford discuss his career, achievements, and preparations for an upcoming historic fight. Tickets include a sit-down three-course dinner and the opportunity to meet Crawford in person.
In September 2025, Crawford is scheduled to face Mexican boxer Canelo Álvarez in Las Vegas, with the bout streamed globally on Netflix. A victory would make him the first male boxer in history to attain undisputed status in three separate weight divisions.
Organised by BBB Promotions, the event will feature an interview with Crawford conducted by the founder and CEO, Grant “Tassie” Brown, who is a former Australian amateur boxing representative and retired undefeated professional boxer, with a combined amateur and professional record of 58 bouts.
“Having Bud Crawford in Australia is more than an event – it’s an historic moment for boxing fans. This is a chance to meet a true superstar in his prime,” Mr Brown said.
“This exclusive interview and meet-and-greet opportunity aren’t just an event, it’s a chance to be part of boxing history. Attendees will have a moment they can cherish forever, meeting a potential future champion of boxing,” he said.
“From Omaha, Nebraska to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Crawford’s journey is an incredible story of determination, skill, and championship spirit.”
