Choice Hotels expands with new North Melbourne apartments
Choice Hotels International has expanded into North Melbourne, with a newly rebranded property that offers 45 self-contained apartments designed for business travellers, families, and leisure guests seeking both comfort and convenience.
Formerly part of the City Edge portfolio, the building is now a part of Choice’s Quality brand, with each apartment equipped with a kitchenette, providing a “home away from home” experience for those staying in the city.
Located on the fringe of the city at 188 Peel St, the property is well connected by tram to Melbourne’s key attractions, including Queen Victoria Market, the University of Melbourne, and a wide selection of cafés and restaurants that define North Melbourne’s vibrant local culture.
Chunlin Han, director of Sunlit Grove Investments and franchisee of the new property, said joining the Choice Hotels network was an exciting step forward.
“We are excited to be part of the Choice Hotels portfolio as we welcome guests to the Victorian capital,” Mr Han said.
“Being part of a globally recognised brand helps give our guests added confidence in the quality of the experience we deliver. Choice Hotels’ strong reputation and guest-first approach align perfectly with our own focus on providing consistent, reliable and comfortable stays.”
Mr Han added that the Quality brand’s reputation for trust and familiarity was particularly valuable for travellers seeking longer-term accommodation.
“Our apartments offer great value, modern amenities and all the comforts of home, right in the heart of North Melbourne.”
Trent Fraser, CEO of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, said the addition reflected the company’s ongoing growth and commitment to providing trusted accommodation options across Australia.
“It’s fantastic to be able to offer guests the opportunity to stay so close to Melbourne’s key attractions, while enjoying the comfort of modern amenities and trusted service at a competitive price,” Mr Fraser said.
The property is ideally positioned for both leisure and corporate travellers, especially those seeking longer-stay options near the city. We’re confident this hotel will thrive with the support and systems we provide to help drive performance and guest satisfaction.
The new North Melbourne property also joins Choice Privileges, the company’s award-winning loyalty program, which allows members to earn and redeem points for reward nights at more than 7500 Choice-branded hotels across 46 countries and territories. •
