Community Fun Day to champion local cause

The Flemington and Kensington Bowling Club is proud to be holding its third annual Community Fun Day during this year’s Easter break.

The event will take place on the March 29, and all proceeds will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Peter Clifford, a former president of the club, is currently involved in the organisation of the day. He emphasised that it would be a great chance for people to get involved within their local community.

“Given the club and our community are practically neighbours of the RCH, we feel a connection to the appeal and take a lot of pride in being able to support the fantastic work they do,” he said.

The day will boast a wide variety of events, with Easter egg hunts, face painting, and a major raffle. There will also be live blues music, courtesy of The Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society, and a new children’s magic show performed by The Great Armando.

Mr Clifford hoped people would be able to enjoy the event and “get a sense of connection” with their local community, while simultaneously “supporting a great cause.”

“I think the bowls club is one of our community's best kept secrets and I hope people who come down realise that,” he said.

The Flemington and Kensington Bowling Club’s Community Fun Day will be held on Friday, March 29 from 12pm. All donations will support the RCH Good Friday Appeal.
