Royal Melbourne Show returns with animals, attractions, and family fun
The 2025 Melbourne Royal Show is promising one of its most exciting programs yet, with a host of new attractions, farm experiences and entertainment set to delight visitors from Thursday, September 25 to Sunday, October 5.
Held at Melbourne Showgrounds, this year’s event will feature more than 6000 animals, hundreds of free activities, and a vibrant mix of food, rides, and performances. Highlights include the debut of LEGO Playland – Farm to City, offering four themed play zones including the exclusive LEGO DUPLO Farm, and the Little Farmers Field, where children can dig vegetables, collect eggs, shear pretend sheep and feed baby animals.
The Farm Animal Pin Trail will offer kids the chance to meet animals across five destinations, collecting souvenir pins along the way, while thrill-seekers can witness Jaws Great Escape, a daring high-altitude stunt by escape artist Sam Powers. Equine fans can enjoy the Night of the Horse, making its Australian debut with spectacular horse displays and adrenaline-filled performances.
Food lovers can explore 84 outlets, each offering an item for $10 or less, alongside the new Farmer’s BBQ serving $3.50 sausage sizzles to support drought relief. Expanded seating and picnic areas will add to the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
The Show will also feature the much-loved Sunrise Animal Nursery, champion livestock displays, woodchopping, dog competitions, and the Spotlight Makers Pavilion, showcasing thousands of creative entries vying for Melbourne Royal blue ribbons.
Entertainment extends into the evening with fireworks following Night of the Horse, while Oodlemania on the final day will celebrate the charm of oodle breeds in fun competition classes.
For ride lovers, the Kids, Adventure, and Thrillseekers carnivals return, with a Day 1 Unlimited Ride Pass offering great value. Admission prices have been frozen, with discounts available for early bird tickets and a new Flexi-Ticket for those who want flexibility.
Melbourne Royal CEO Brad Jenkins said the Show remained “a much-loved iconic Victorian event” expected to attract more than 400,000 visitors. “Come with family and friends to see the animals, farm experiences, amazing attractions and stay to enjoy the food, carnival rides, and spectacular entertainment,” he said.
