The 2024 Queensberry Cup was a fantastic celebration of community, drawing locals from across the area to Errol St on October 19.

The event was packed with excitement, featuring not only the popular billy cart races but also a host of family-friendly activities.

Attendees enjoyed the Village Dog Show, free haircuts from local barbers, dog grooming by Bark Road, and delicious offerings from a variety of local food vendors.

A highlight of the day was the return of the celebrity race, where Lord Mayoral candidates faced off in a friendly competition.

Despite Lord Mayor Nick Reece’s recent election victory on November 7, it was Lawrence Lam, local West Melbourne resident and candidate for council, who triumphed in the race, representing Team Hakim.
