Disappointed

I was interested to read the article by David Schout (September Issue) about the City of Melbourne Council’s Australia Day poll.

As to whether the date to celebrate Australia Day should be changed – I do wonder how much the council’s “independent poll” cost the ratepayers? I suspect, a lot.

But no doubt, the councillors do not care. It is not their money.

It is disappointing that the council does not concentrate its efforts and considerable financial resources on actively stopping the irresponsible behaviour of feral footpath riding, scooter riders.

This activity is both illegal and is dangerous for footpath pedestrians.

Particularly the elderly.
