Festive season hits North and West Melbourne
Come and celebrate the festive season in North and West Melbourne with our 10 days of celebrations.
You can expect visits from Santa, live music on the streets as you shop, Christmas characters spreading the festive cheer, special offers from North and West Melbourne Precinct Association (NWMPA) members, locally designed gift wrapping and more!
Santa will be flying into North and West Melbourne Tuesday, December 20 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm with his trusted face painting elf.
While we are still in the planning stages for this event, there will be something for everyone for 10 days leading up to Christmas, from December 14 to 23.
You may already see some festive changes coming to the corner of Queensberry and Errol streets with the wonderful Christmas beetle mural by West Melbourne-based urban art aficionados, Blender Studios.
The artwork symbolises an inclusive celebration of the festive season, represented by the Christmas beetles.
Some of our members already joining the festivities include:
- Gallerysmith is kindly hosting an open night at the gallery to launch our Christmas campaign and get everyone excited. On the night of December 14, you are invited to come and check out some amazing art and enjoy a glass of wine with us! There will be some amazing book giveaways for some lucky winners too!
- Here’s Looking At You Kid is offering Happy Hours for the 10 days from 4pm to 6pm with 10 per cent off selected distilled gin bottles – gift wrapped in our designer paper and ready to put under the tree!
- Wonky Trolley is offering Happy Hours between Monday to Friday from 6pm to 8pm for Christmas customers to buy a $5 craft beer when they purchase any burger – the perfect summer combo!
- Drunken Poet is offering on Wednesday 21st - happy hour 5pm-7pm $10 Guinness, Kilkenny and Furphy Pints. Stick around for ‘Wine, Whiskey and Women’ musicians performing at 8.
These are just a few early editions to the schedule, so please keep an eye on our calendar for details over the coming weeks. •
