Sisters Darcie and Remy, both paediatric speech pathologists, are the founders of Hello Kids Therapy Hub – a warm and welcoming speech pathology clinic in North Melbourne offering tailored therapy for children

Hello Kids Therapy Hub is redefining what speech therapy looks like – and how it feels – for local families.

The clinic provides a wide range of support for children with autism, language delays, stuttering, dyslexia, and literacy struggles.

“We saw a gap in the market, and we wanted to provide great speech pathology services for children in the region,” Darcie said.

Both qualified paediatric speech pathologists, the sisters launched the clinic just over a year ago, driven by a lifelong dream and a shared passion for helping children find their voice.

“Our parents had businesses when we were growing up, and they were both teachers. So, we always kind of knew that was the path we wanted to take,” Darcie told North West City News.

That path has led them to a thriving practice that supports kids across a spectrum of needs.

“We assess children, so that might involve parent discussions, teacher discussions or classroom observations. Then we plan an intervention program in consultation with the parents, so that we know we’re aligned to their goals for their child and what the child’s goals are as well.”

Hello Kids Therapy Hub tailors their service to the individual needs of the child, with both one-on-one sessions and group options available.

“Even though we’re working on broader goals, we want to do it in a play-based way,” Darcie said.

“We try as much as possible to make our therapy engaging and tailored to their interests, and just to build their confidence in certain areas.”

The result is transformative – for both children and their families.

“It can be really life-changing,” she said.

“We’re part of their care team, not only working on their weaknesses, but also harnessing their strengths.”

Darcie and Remy are proud to call North Melbourne home, describing it as the perfect place to bring their dream to life.

“We love the area. People are so community-minded and friendly. We’re really happy we chose this location to start.”
